Position Summary
SCCF is seeking a dedicated and skilled volunteer to take on recruitment and management of volunteers in our organization. Tasks include developing a volunteer management strategy, recruiting new volunteers, and posting and onboarding new volunteers to the organization.
Reporting to the Grassroots Engagement & Membership Coordinator, the successful candidate will provide leadership and support for staff members and Chapters in execution of our grassroots mandate. They will work collaboratively with SCCF staff and leadership volunteers to advance our mission of uniting people and communities to stand up for nature through justice‑driven, democratic action and nurturing hope, belonging, and bold leadership

Candidates must be located in Canada. The candidate will be required to work from a home office.
Responsibilities and Scope
The Volunteer Coordinator will play a leadership role in:
- Developing a volunteer management strategy for the organization that aligns with organizational and internal policy structures (ie Personnel and Privacy Policies),
- Developing and implementing structures, channels and tactics to recruit and communicate with volunteers; and
Supporting the volunteer needs of ongoing activities of the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Passion for environment, nature and climate solutions
- At least 3 years’ experience in volunteer supervisions and recruitment
- Strong organizational skills and a familiarity with strategy development and implementation
- Familiar with principles of engagement organizing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must undergo a police records check for working with vulnerable populations (we will pay the fee)
- Fluent in English in written and verbal communication. Ability to speak French an asset
- Adept in Google Workspace as well as Canva
- Familiarity with CRM databases an asset
