Stevens-Johnson Syndrome Canada is a non-profit Charity that aims to promote health by providing people suffering from Stevens Johnson Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (SJS/TEN) as well as their families and caregivers with access to related counselling, support groups and information programs. The President, a survivor of SJS/TEN founded this organization about 10 years ago. The intention is to promote education by providing workshops, forums and seminars about the disease and its effects, to the public and medical professionals.
Duties
As part of the Community Outreach team, you may:
- Help with planning, executing, and evaluating outreach and awareness campaigns.
- Work with the team lead to cultivate strategic relationships with donors and the media to represent the organization effectively.
- Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including local community events, Townhalls, workshops, and other communication opportunities.
- Collect and analyze data to identify potential donors, events, and venues beneficial to the organization's goals.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and relevant news related to SJS/TEN
- Attend and participate in community events to promote awareness and engage potential supporters.
- Assist in organizing special events, including donor/volunteer appreciation events and other fundraising initiatives
- Collaborate with other organizations, both non-profit and for-profit, to expand outreach efforts and share resources.

Desired Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven organizational skills, manage tasks, meet short deadlines
- Able to work independently with little supervision Well-developed current computer skills (eg. Microsoft Office, Google Forms, Canva, etc.)
- An earnest commitment to raising awareness about SJS/TEN and positively impacting the lives of those affected.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and online community engagement is a plus.
- The ability to take initiative in outreach activities.
