Adult Volunteer Needed - BGC Winnipeg's CSI Summer Program
The Community School Investigators (CSI) is a BGC Winnipeg Summer Learning
Enrichment Program that offers youth from grades 1 to 6 a range of experiential, recreational and educational activities over five weeks in the summer. Participants enjoy free life-changing opportunities they might not otherwise experience in safe, supportive, and nurturing environments.
Overview:
Volunteers will act to enrich the quality of experiences for children attending the program. CSI provides opportunities many students may not otherwise have, we peruse a variety of activities from indoor to outdoor, on-site, and off-site; it is expected that volunteers are prepared each day with appropriate clothing and footwear to participate in the activities. Volunteer duties include, but are not limited to, the Walking School Bus (walking students to and from program each day), fieldtrips, and community events, engaging children learning and recreational activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supporting group work and individual participants
- Participate in activities and act as a positive role model
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and behavior
- Respect confidentiality of personal information
- Prepare materials for activities, daily set up and clean up of program space
- Assist in the supervision of children in classroom, on lunch breaks, on the bus, and during field trips
Assist in kitchen operations; preparing snacks and meals, serving, clean up
Program runs July 2 -August 10, 2026
Mondays-Fridays from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 2 full days per week or 4 half days per week for the duration of the 5 week program; of course, occasional absences due to holidays or unexpected circumstances are acceptable.
Volunteers will be required to attend one full day of training on July 2, 2026.
