
Volunteer Bookkeeping/Accountant
The Part Time Volunteer Bookkeeper/Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing payroll, tracking program and grant expenses, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role is remote, with virtual meetings once a month.

Qualifications
- Experience with nonprofit accounting and budgets
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Having good communication skills
- Experience working remotely
Responsibilities
- Manage bookkeeping and balance records
- Track expenses across multiple programs/grants
- Process payroll and handle CRA requirements (T4s, filings)
- Assist with quarterly and annual financial statements
Position Disclaimer
As a smaller nonprofit charity, this position is primarily volunteer-based. Our previous accountant supported us alongside their full-time role by generously volunteering their time.
While this is not a paid position, we do provide a charitable tax receipt, which can be used to help reduce your taxes. Our previous accountant received close to $4,500 in tax relief through this arrangement.
