Pelham Cares is a charitable organization in Fonthill, Ontario dedicated to providing food, support, and hope to individuals and families in need throughout the community. The organization is currently seeking volunteer Board Members to help guide its future. Board Directors are responsible for overseeing governance, setting strategic priorities, establishing policies, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA) and Food Banks Canada Standards of Excellence. Directors also appoint and support the Executive Director while acting in the best interests of the organization and the people it serves.

Ideal candidates will bring integrity, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a passion for community service. Experience in areas such as fundraising, legal and risk management, governance, human resources, communications, advocacy, strategic planning, or financial management is especially valuable. The Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month (excluding July and August) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Meridian Community Centre in Fonthill, with additional responsibilities including committee work, attending the Annual General Meeting, and representing Pelham Cares in the community.
