Volunteer Board Member (Finance and Governance)
Neighbourhood Legal Services is a community legal clinic in Toronto's downtown east, working on housing, social assistance, immigration and access to justice.
We're looking for a volunteer board member who can contribute financial and governance experience and join our Finance Committee. Experience with budgeting, financial statements and nonprofit oversight would be helpful. A CPA designation would be an asset, but we welcome other relevant experience.
Board members must live or work in our catchment area: east of Yonge Street, south of Bloor/Danforth and west of the Don Valley, north of the lake.
The commitment is approximately 3 to 4 hours a month, including one two-hour board meeting and one one-hour Finance Committee meeting. Meetings are held both in person and remotely.
We're hoping to fill the position soon. If you're interested, please apply with a brief introduction and your resume or summary of experience. Expressions of interest will be reviewed as received.
Please share this opportunity with anyone who might be a good fit.
