About Gentle Family Community Support
We are a registered charitable organization focused on improving the lives of individuals, seniors, families, caregivers, and people who need additional support in their homes and communities.
Our goal is to build stronger communities by providing compassionate support, connecting people with resources, and promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life.
We are seeking dedicated and community-minded individuals to join our Volunteer Board of Directors and help guide the organization’s growth and development.
Position Overview
As a volunteer Board Member, you will contribute your knowledge, experience, ideas, and community connections to help Gentle Family Community Support achieve its mission.
Board members play an important role in providing leadership, governance, strategic direction, community outreach, and organizational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in monthly Board meetings and contribute to discussions and decision-making.
- Help establish the organization’s vision, strategic priorities, and long-term goals.
- Provide guidance and oversight regarding programs, services, and community initiatives.
- Support fundraising, sponsorship, and community partnership opportunities.
- Help develop relationships with community organizations, businesses, healthcare providers, seniors’ organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Promote awareness of Gentle Family Community Support within the community.
- Assist with community events, outreach initiatives, and volunteer activities when available.
- Review and contribute to organizational policies and procedures.
- Bring forward new ideas and opportunities that can strengthen the organization.
- Act as an ambassador for Gentle Family Community Support and promote its mission and values.
- Maintain confidentiality and act in the best interests of the organization and the community it serves.
Ideal Candidates
We welcome individuals from diverse professional, cultural, and community backgrounds. Previous Board experience is an asset but not required.
We are particularly interested in individuals with experience or knowledge in areas such as:
- Community development and outreach
- Healthcare or social services
- Seniors’ services
- Family and caregiver support
- Non-profit or charitable organizations
- Fundraising and sponsorship
- Finance or accounting
- Human resources
- Marketing and communications
- Legal or regulatory matters
- Business development
- Grant writing
- Information technology
- Volunteer management

Commitment
This is an unpaid volunteer position. Board members are expected to attend scheduled Board meetings and participate in committees, projects, and organizational activities as their availability permits.
