Volunteer Board Member

LEADR is a nonprofit charity with over 30 years of experience in Durham Region (including the municipalities of Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, and Oshawa) focused on helping adult literacy learners meet their skills and further training goals,

We are seeking a committed Board Member dedicated to improving reading, writing, and digital literacy skills and educational opportunities in our community. Board members play a key governance role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring financial accountability, and strengthening our impact.

The ideal candidate brings experience in organizational leadership and strategic planning, with the ability to contribute to long-term goals and decision-making.

Familiarity with reading and interpreting financial statements is important, along with an interest in supporting sound fiscal oversight.

Experience in marketing, communications, or promotions is also valuable to help expand community awareness and engagement.
