Now Recruiting: Volunteer Board Member

Donald Moore Community Services Inc. is inviting passionate and community-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors.

As a nonprofit dedicated to empowering racialized communities, our work includes initiatives that promote digital literacy, community safety, and equitable access to resources through culturally responsive programs, community development, and advocacy. We are looking for an individual who is committed to strengthening community outcomes and helping guide the strategic direction of our organization.

🔹 About the Role

As a Board Member, you will help guide the strategic direction and governance of the organization. We are a small nonprofit with a working board - meaning board members actively contribute to planning and executing initiatives through committees.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to strategic planning and organizational oversight
• Actively participate in committees and support program execution
• Attend and engage in regular board meetings
• Support fundraising, outreach, and partnership development
• Act as an ambassador for the organization
• Provide expertise, insight, and hands-on support as needed

🔹 Who We’re Looking For

We welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, including (but not limited to):

• Experience or interest in nonprofit governance and community work
• Skills in finance, law, fundraising, marketing, program delivery, or community engagement
• A strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and community development
• A collaborative, hands-on approach and willingness to contribute time and effort

Previous board experience is an asset but not required. We especially encourage applications from individuals who reflect the communities we serve.

This is a volunteer position with an expected commitment to regular board meetings and occasional committee participation.
