The Fraser Valley Humane Society, located in Mission, BC, is a registered charity dedicated to the wellbeing of stray and surrendered cats in the community. We ensure that every cat we care for receives veterinary attention, spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping before finding them loving homes. Role Description
This Volunteer Board Member role involves providing strategic oversight, attending board meetings, and contributing to organizational planning and governance. Responsibilities include participating in fundraising initiatives, community outreach, and supporting the society’s mission and goals. While the position is based in Mission, BC, it allows for hybrid working arrangements, combining in-shelter duties with remote work as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Ability to dedicate time and actively participate in board meetings, committees, and governance responsibilities
- A commitment to accountability and ethical leadership
- Prior board or governance experience (considered an asset but not required)
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a criminal record check
