Help Shape the Future of Services and Housing in the Province (SHIP)!

Joining our Board of Directors means using your skills to improve lives, strengthen communities, and influence how care and housing are delivered where it’s needed most.
As a member of the SHIP Board of Directors, you will have the opportunity to:
- Use your leadership and governance experience to influence housing and social service systems during a time of growth
- Contribute to decisions that directly affect vulnerable individuals and families in your community
- Build meaningful relationships with senior leaders, sector experts, and community partners

- Leave a tangible legacy by helping guide SHIP’s long‑term vision and mission
Why this Matters now
SHIP is navigating significant changes in the housing and health‑care landscape, including evolving funding models, increasingly complex community needs, and a growing portfolio. The Board will play a critical role in ensuring SHIP remains strong, responsive, and innovative during this period, so our front-line staff can continue to provide key housing and accompanying clinical supports.
Our Impact So Far
Through SHIP’s unique model of the continuum of housing (from crisis support to permanent) with integrated wrap-around services we are strengthening the lives of the most vulnerable in our communities. So far, we 1200 individuals in supportive housing, 967 clients diverted from homelessness, a 97% housing retention rate, and over 240,000 client interactions.
Our Capital Assets and Operating Budget
SHIP leads a significant and growing portfolio of community assets. With 11 existing buildings, 5 upcoming capital projects, and an annual operating budget of $80 million, the organization requires strong, engaged, and accountable governance.
