
Volunteer Board Member
Overview
We are seeking dedicated, passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors with knowledge and skills in one or more of the following areas: human resources, legal, fundraising, and governance.
As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the organization towards achieving its mission and objectives. This position requires a commitment to governance, strategic planning, and community engagement. Board Members are expected to bring their expertise and insights to help shape the organization's future.
The requirements are as follows:
- Attend monthly board meetings (last Thursday of every month)
- A time commitment of 5-7 hours per month (includes Board preparation, meeting and committee meeting time).
- A term commitment of 3 years.
- Participation in an additional committee, such as human resources, fundraising, governance, or legal.
- Promotion and support of Frontlines' programs, catering services, events, and fundraisers.
- Provide oversight on organizational policies, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Supervise committees as needed, providing guidance and support to ensure successful outcomes.
- Participate in recruiting efforts for new board members or volunteers, enhancing the organization's capacity.
- Represent the organization at public events, utilizing public speaking skills to promote its mission.

About Us
Weston Frontline Centre is a charitable organization located in the York South-Weston, Toronto area. In September 1987, Frontlines opened its doors to the children and youth in Weston, offering them a safe place to "hang out" away from the streets. Frontlines has a proud history as a youth charity located in York-South Weston, providing a variety of programs and services to youth.
