CALL FOR DIRECTORS WITH UP4 THE CHALLENGE Are you inspired by bold ideas, equity-driven education, and real-world impact? Do you believe in the power of youth, creativity, and inclusive innovation?
Up4 The Challenge is a dynamic not-for-profit social enterprise on a mission to equip young people—focussing on underrepresented, equity-deserving communities—with the tools and confidence to design a better future using science, technology, and innovative thinking.
We deliver engaging virtual and hybrid school workshops supported by our interactive STEM-Flower tool, designed to help educators teach and assess essential 21st-century skills like collaboration, critical thinking, and design for social good.
We’re growing — and we’re looking for energetic, values-aligned leaders to join our Board of Directors as we scale and deepen our impact. We're looking for community builders with a strong network who can scope new opportunities and develop new channels for funding and partnerships.
CURRENT OPENINGS We are currently recruiting for the following volunteer board roles (two-year term, renewable):
â Director of Social Enterprise / Fundraising Brings knowledge of fundraising strategy, revenue diversification (grants, donors, sponsorships), business models, and impact measurement. Supports scaling and donor engagement.
â Secretary Maintains meeting minutes, official records, and board documents. Ensures compliance with bylaws and governance requirements. Preferred experience includes supporting a not-for-profit through the transition to registered charity status.
â Treasurer Oversees financial health and reporting. Works closely with staff and accountants on budgeting, audits, and compliance.
â Youth or Alumni Representative (age 18-29) Offers lived experience and insights to ensure programming remains relevant, empowering, and youth-driven.
