Volunteer Board of Directors Opportunity

About Us Saint Luke’s Dixie Senior Residence Corporation operates as Westminster Court, a 190-unit not-for-profit

residence for seniors able to live independently. We are located in east Mississauga at 4150 Westminster Place, between Rathburn Road and Tomken Road.

Westminster Court's mission is to provide affordable housing for seniors with low to moderate incomes who can live independently in the community. We enable tenants to participate in a safe, active Westminster

community and support our tenants’ evolving needs by enabling them to independently access third-party service providers.

Our Vision is to upgrade Westminster Court’s facilities and serve a greater number of low—to moderate- income seniors.

Opportunity Westminster Court has been in operation for over 40 years. Our offering is managed by full-time and part- time staff. We are now working to upgrade our existing building and significantly increase the number of units we offer through a 70-unit, energy-efficient expansion. We work closely with the Region of Peel, the

City of Mississauga, professional planners, architects, and specialized contractors.

Westminster Court is seeking volunteer board members interested in affordable housing for seniors. We are looking for people with knowledge and experience in the following areas:

• Property management

• Legal

• Finance/Accounting

• Supporting seniors aging in place and engaging in social activities

This is an exciting time for Westminster Court. There is plenty of opportunity for the right individuals to contribute and to be rewarded through professional growth, engaging with dedicated, like-minded

professionals and the experience of knowing that you are helping provide affordable housing for over two hundred seniors, many of whom would otherwise not have a safe place to call home.

Expected Contribution Board members are expected to commit approximately 6-10 hours per month to Westminster Court activities,

including preparation/review of material for and attendance at Board meetings and other work/meetings related to the facilities, Board governance, tenant interaction and possible expansion.
