IDEA Training Collaborative is seeking passionate and skilled individuals to join our Board of Directors. We are at an exciting and key point in our evolution, building on our recently created five-year strategic plan that includes growth in revenue, geography, staff and training and resources.

About IDEA Training Collaborative

IDEA Training Collaborative (IDEA TC), formerly the Toronto Hostels Training Centre was established in 1997 and has provided training to over 75,000 individuals from a plethora of sectors and communities. IDEA TC offers Inclusive Diverse Equitable Affordable training and resources for individuals supporting vulnerable populations.

IDEA TC courses focus on practical, real-world skills in areas such as trauma-informed care, mental health support, conflict resolution, and cultural competence, helping participants to navigate the unique challenges faced by vulnerable individuals. By promoting empathy, ethical practices, and clear communication, we empower our trainees to make a positive impact in the lives of those they serve. Whether you’re new to the field or looking to expand your expertise, our organization is here to guide and support you on your journey to make a difference. We offer flexible training options to

meet the needs of different learners and organizations. Our sessions are available in half-day, full-day (one-day), and two-day formats, allowing learners to choose the duration that best fits their schedule and learning objectives. In addition to live sessions, we also provide self-paced training, giving participants the freedom to learn at their own convenience and pace. Whether you prefer in-person engagement or flexible online learning, we have a training option to suit your needs.

2025 marks the launch of IDEA TC’s new ambitious five-year plan that will see the organization grow its revenue, instructor and staff compliment, its course offerings and increase its geographic reach.

Opportunity to Create Change

We are looking for candidates that can commit to a three-year term, have personal and or professional experience with developing and or delivering training, have personal and or professional experience with one or more of the following systems/sectors, shelter, housing, homelessness, mental health, substance use, vulnerable populations, aging, newcomers and refugees, and healthcare. We are also looking for individuals with experience in governance, fundraising, community engagement, legal expertise and financial expertise.
