
Volunteer Board Director
ImmUnity Canada is a national not-for-profit charitable organization that provides a community for people and families impacted by Primary Immunodeficiency (PI). We advocate for education, research, and support for PI patients. Together, we can give all Canadians with PI access to the resources they need to thrive.
ImmUnity Canada was founded in 1997 as the Canadian Immunodeficiency Patient Organization. We changed our name in 2022 to better reflect the work we do today.
We are currently seeking passionate, dedicated individuals to join our volunteer Board of Directors.

About You:
- Commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of ImmUnity Canada
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal, written)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and foster constructive dialogue
- We are specifically interested in candidates with skills, knowledge or experience in the following areas:
- Non-profit governance and policy generation
- Legal
- Fundraising
- Community engagement
- We are specifically seeking candidates representing the LGBTQ2IA+, Indigenous or BPOC communities
- Applicants residing in the following regions are preferred: British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Nunavut, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Newfoundland
- All applicants must reside in Canada / be permanent Canadian citizens
What You Need To Know
- The working language of the organization is English; all Board and COmmittee meetings are conducted in English
- Time commitment is approximately 1-2 hours per month, plus occasionally 1-2 weekends per year for strategic meetings and/or conferences
- All meetings take place virtually using Zoom, unless otherwise stated and planned in advance by the Organization for in-person events.
- Board meetings take place quarterly with committee meetings taking place in off-Board meeting months.
- All Board Directors are expected to join at least one committee and attend regularly in accordance with Organization expectations
