About the Opportunity
Voice of Albertans with Disabilities (VAD) is seeking approximately 40 dedicated volunteers to support Voices Without Barriers, Alberta’s first fully accessible music festival.
This exciting and inclusive event will bring together artists, community members, organizations, and individuals from across Alberta to celebrate music, creativity, accessibility, inclusion, and connection.
Volunteers will play an essential role in helping create a welcoming, barrier-free, and community-driven experience for attendees of all abilities.

Volunteer Roles Available
We are currently recruiting volunteers for a variety of roles, including:
Event-Day Support (Setup / Teardown)
Assist with preparing the venue before the event and supporting teardown afterward.
Guest Services
Welcome attendees, support registration, and help create a positive and inclusive first impression.
Accessibility Support
Provide guidance and assistance to attendees as needed to help ensure an accessible and barrier-free experience.
Artist Support
Assist participating artists with coordination, transitions, and general logistics throughout the event.
Social Media / Content Capture
Capture photos and short videos during the event to support VAD’s communications and storytelling.
General Runners / Floaters
Provide flexible support across various areas of the event as needed.
Who Should Apply?
We welcome volunteers who are:
- Friendly, reliable, and adaptable
- Passionate about community and inclusion
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Open to supporting a variety of roles
No prior experience is required — just a willingness to contribute and be part of something meaningful.
Screening & Requirements
To support a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants, some volunteer roles may require:
- A Vulnerable Sector Check
- A brief screening and/or orientation process
All volunteers will receive guidance and support prior to the event.
