VMPC Board Opportunity | Director of Funds & Business Development
Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada (VMPC) is seeking a strategic, mission-driven leader to join our national Board of Directors as Director of Funds & Business Development.
This role is a unique opportunity to shape the long-term sustainability of Canada’s professional association for leaders of volunteers. The Director provides strategic leadership for VMPC’s fundraising, sponsorship, grant development, and partnership efforts—working closely with the Board Executive, portfolio chairs, and a dedicated volunteer committee.
If you are passionate about the nonprofit sector and bring experience in fundraising, grant writing, sponsorship development, or business development, this role offers a meaningful way to apply your expertise at a national level. You will help diversify VMPC’s revenue, strengthen cross-sector partnerships, and support innovative approaches to funding professional learning and sector leadership.
Beyond strategy and funding, this role is about collaboration and mentorship—leading and supporting volunteers, building strong relationships with funders and partners, and contributing to thoughtful, data-informed board decision-making.
Why serve in this role?
- Help strengthen the volunteer management profession across Canada
- Contribute to national governance and strategic leadership
- Expand your professional network with sector leaders and funders
- Be recognized as a leader in nonprofit sustainability and impact
- Shape the future of VMPC and its ability to serve members coast to coast
This is a volunteer board position with a three-year term, renewable annually at the AGM. Candidates must reside in Canada.
