
Vice President of Events
We’re Looking for You! VP Events
The VP Events is in charge of overseeing the planning, organization and execution all of YWiB Vancouver’s value-adding events. You: You are passionate about organization and logistics – your life is all about being punctual, to-do lists and colour-coding project plans! You are the mastermind behind the scenes and the go-to person that everyone can count on! Responsibilities:
• Developing an annual strategy and goals for YWIB Vancouver’s events that connects with chapter-specific goals and strategy. Portfolio goals and ensuring successful execution
• Creating both year-long, monthly and event-specific timelines and deadlines.
• Compiling metrics and measurable data points to build on and improve events and
programs.
• Delegating responsibilities to the events and executive teams before, on and after
events, including set up and clean up.
• Keeping up to date on upcoming conferences, galas, or events within the local
community
• Hiring, training, leading and supporting your events team members.
• Oversee and conduct event portfolio committee meetings and ensure smooth
communications between the event portfolio and other chapter portfolios.
• Complete your term with post-event duties and turnover preparations
What we’re looking for:
• An understanding of the event planning lifecycle and basics (budgeting, setting timelines, marketing, and etiquette).
• Experience in event planning and ability to thrive in collaborative team environments
• Has experience in stakeholder management and/or being an ambassador or liaison
• Solid organizational, prioritizing and project management skills.
• Strong and natural communicator, comfortable with enforcing deadlines and coaching
collaborative team members.
• Experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Google Suite
