VANCOUVER FRIENDSHIP WALK VOLUNTEER CALLOUT

Best Buddies Canada is a national nonprofit dedicated to creating opportunities for one-to-one friendships, mentorship, and inclusive communities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our mission is simple but powerful: to ensure that every person with IDD has a friend and a place where they truly belong. Volunteers are at the heart of that mission—you help us build a Canada where everyone feels seen, valued, and included.

This October, we’re hosting our very first Best Buddies Friendship Walk in Vancouver at UBC’s AMS Nest Building. It’s a day of walking, connection, and celebration to foster inclusion. Students, families, local businesses, and community members will come together to make this event possible—and we’d love for you to be part of it.

We’re looking for volunteers to:

- Support planning and logistics before the event (remote opportunities available)

- Help with event communications, fundraising and vendor outreach

- Assist with setup and activities on walk day

- Join as walkers or assist others throughout the walk

No experience is required—just bring your enthusiasm and a passion for inclusion!
