Treasurer, Volunteer Board of Directors Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada (Remote) Part-Time Volunteer

About The Role The Treasurer plays a crucial role in supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This hands-on role involves working closely with the Association’s Accountant, Business Managers, and the broader Board to ensure all of our ongoing financial tasks are complete and we maintain compliance with relevant regulations and policies. While this is primarily a remote position, occasional in-person attendance is required. The Treasurer position is a full-voting member of the Governing Board and is expected to be an active participant in the duties associated with this position. This role requires an average time commitment of approx 10 hours per month. An individual is elected to the position of Treasurer on the recommendation of the Nominating Committee and following a vote of the general membership held at the Annual General Meeting. The position is a two-year appointment. No individual may hold the same position for more than two consecutive terms of office.

About the GRHVA The Grand River Hospital Volunteer Association (GRHVA) strives to provide an exceptional experience

to the Grand River Hospital community through products, services, and financial contributions

generated from our not-for-profit operations. We aim to do this through collaboration with our

partners throughout Waterloo Region Health Network (WRHN) and the Waterloo Region to build on

existing services to enhance community experience.

Key Responsibilities:

● Back-up Support For Our Frontline: With advanced notice and planning, be the back-up for processing our Tim Hortons invoicing and payroll, and in unusual cases with processing daily deposits. Support the tracking of Coffee and Foodie Coins.

● Balance the Volunteer Books: Verify and balance sales receipts from both Gift Shops and record sales results in Quickbooks. Ensure cheques for Gift Shop invoices are issued and mailed when due.

● Advisory Role: Provide financial advice and guidance to the Board, Accountant, and Business Managers to support strategic decision-making.

● Fundraising Support: Assist in financial planning for fundraising activities and grant applications.

● Compliance: Work with the Association’s Account and our Director of Finance to ensure compliance with all financial regulations and legal requirements, including tax filings and audits.

● Attend Regular Board Meetings.

What You’ll bring to the GRHVA Team: ● Excellent organizational and communication skills. ● Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities. ● Experience in financial management, accounting, or a related field.. ● Ability to work independently and as part of a team. ● Passion for supporting the Association’s mission.
