Description
As a Treasure Tails Volunteer you will report to the Store Manager, but will regularly liaise with fellow teammates to coordinate allocation of jewellery-related activities. Based on your field of expertise or area of interest, you may be involved in the identification, sorting, cleaning, Canadarding and/or pricing of jewellery (including watches). This position entails volunteering from home and local pick-up / drop-off / sorting of jewellery, as required, in addition to tidying and setting-up jewellery displays after store hours on Mondays.
Time Commitment
Based on the number and type of jewellery pieces donated and requiring handling, this volunteer’s hours will vary from several hours each week, to only a few hours each month, excluding the 2 to 3 hours every Monday instore after store-close. A minimum of commitment of 6 months is required.

- Liaising and meeting with Jewellery Team volunteers to sort donations into type and composition
- Collecting and returning jewellery (to / from store or teammates’ homes)
- Cleaning items
- Adding new backs to earrings
- Carding items for display
- Pricing according to brand / designer, age, original value, resale value, etc.
- Arranging in-store displays
- 18 years of age or older
- A recent police check is required
- Dependable and self-motivated
- Has a strong work ethic
- An interest in jewellery is ideal
- Adheres to appropriate protocol, policies and procedures
