Training Coordinator
Training Coordinator (6-month contract with opportunity for extension)
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Contract Term: June 29, 2026 – December 31, 2026
Compensation: $77,251 to $93,900 salary range annually, based on experience
36.25 hours per week, plus opportunity to opt in to OMERS Pension Plan and company benefit plan. Vacation is accrued at 1.25 days per month.

About the Role
The Municipal Finance Officers’ Association (MFOA) is a non-profit, member-based association providing training and policy services to municipal finance officers across Ontario. MFOA is seeking to fill a temporary Training Coordinator role (with the opportunity for extension).
The Training Coordinator plays a central role in supporting the planning, execution, and post-event wrap up of our annual flagship conference. The Training Coordinator will also provide support with webinars, workshops, livestreams, and other training events, including communications and facilitation support. Provide general administrative and organizational support as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Show / Exhibitor Coordination (approx. 25%): Coordinate exhibitor and trade show operations, serving as the primary contact, managing materials and registrations, maintaining accurate records, and supporting onsite logistics
Speaker Coordination (approx. 25%): Support speaker coordination, serving as the primary contact, by collecting and tracking materials, maintaining records, and ensuring timely completion of requirements
General Organizational Support (approx. 20%): Provide support with webinars, workshops, livestreams, and other training events, including communications and facilitation support. Provide general administrative and organizational support as needed.
Stakeholder Coordination (approx. 10%): Assist with logistics for volunteers, VIPs, sponsors, suppliers, and others, maintaining accurate stakeholder information
Conference Communications (approx. 10%): Prepare conference communications, including social media posts and email blasts
Conference Administration (approx. 10%): Support conference administration through proofreading, supply preparation, and onsite operational coordination Qualifications
Minimum Requirements Education
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Event Management, Learning & Development, Communications, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field
- Equivalent experience may be considered Experience
- 1-3 years of experience supporting events, conferences, training workshops and/or webinars
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and deliverables
- 1–3 years of administrative or coordination experience
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities

- Clear written and verbal communication
- Problem-solving skills in fast-moving environments Other
- Ability to travel to/from in-person workshops throughout Ontario with some overnights required.
- Have a valid Ontario driver’s license and legally able to drive in Ontario.
- Ability to lift 20-30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Event management certifications or coursework
- Knowledge of adult learning principles as they relate to effective training coordination and facilitation
- Experience supporting large-scale or multi-day conferences
- Experience working with exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, or volunteers
- Strong technical aptitude
- Webinar, livestream, or workshop facilitation experience
- Social media management experience
- Interest in municipal or not-for-profit sectors Work Schedule & Hybrid Requirements
- June – Sept 4: 50% virtual / 50% in-person (some overnights may be required, travel within Ontario)
- September 7 – 25: 100% in-person (required in-person attendance at the MFOA Toronto office Sept 7-18, and at the 2026 Annual Conference at Blue Mountain
Resort week of Sept 21-25; travel, accommodations and meals covered)
- September 28 – December 31: 50% virtual / 50% in-person
