About CDAC

The Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) accredits Canadian undergraduate programs in dentistry, dental specialty programs, dental residency, dental hygiene, and dental assisting education programs. We develop the educational standards upon which programs are accredited and assess programs to ensure ongoing compliance.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and delivery-focused Project Manager to lead a high-impact initiative implementing new oral health accreditation standards across three professions: Dental Assisting, Dentistry, and Dental Hygiene.

This role is responsible for end-to-end project delivery, including planning, coordination, and execution across multiple interdependent workstreams. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring organizational readiness, supporting the development of assessment approaches, and guiding stakeholders through the transition to new standards.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to a national initiative with meaningful impact across oral health education in Canada.

What You’ll Do

  • Project planning & delivery: Lead the development and execution of project plans, including timelines, milestones, and interdependencies across teams; monitor progress and drive accountability for deliverables
  • Standards implementation: Lead the transition from old to new standards, including cross walking requirements, decommissioning outdated elements, and aligning reporting approaches
  • Assessment framework: Support the design and development of the assessment framework, including evaluation tools, rubrics, and program assessment processes
  • Training & stakeholder communication: Develop and coordinate training and communication strategies to support staff, surveyors, and programs through the transition
  • Execution & process improvement: Take a hands-on approach to ensure timely delivery of key activities; maintain project documentation and identify opportunities to improve coordination and efficiency

Who You Are

  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects from planning through implementation and delivery
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, delivery-focused role
  • Proficient with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Able to work independently while keeping cross-functional teams aligned and informed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Post-secondary education in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of demonstrated project management experience, including leading end-to-end implementations across multiple teams
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, managing competing priorities, and driving accountability
  • Experience in accreditation, regulatory, standards development, or educational environments is strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting organizational change or standards implementation is an asset
  • PMP designation (or equivalent) is highly desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is a strong asset

Work Environment & Requirements

This is a remote-first role, with work conducted virtually. Candidates must be available for meetings during Eastern Time business hours. Candidates must have access to a reliable internet connection and a secure, professional remote workspace. The successful candidate will use their own equipment unless otherwise agreed.

Detailed Responsibilities (Additional Context)

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including milestones, dependencies, and timelines aligned to accreditation cycles
  • Monitor progress, manage competing priorities, and drive timely completion of deliverables
  • Lead cross-functional coordination meetings and support prioritization across concurrent initiatives

Standards Transition & Assessment

  • Lead the transition from existing to new standards, including cross-walking requirements and decommissioning outdated elements
  • Support the development of assessment approaches, including evaluation tools and program assessment processes
  • Identify transition impacts and support teams in addressing change management challenges

Training & Communication

  • Develop and implement communication and training plans to support adoption of new standards and processes
  • Coordinate and support delivery of training for staff, surveyors, and programs
  • Serve as a central point of contact for cross-departmental communication

Process & Quality Support

  • Maintain project documentation, including plans, status updates, and action tracking
  • Ensure consistency and quality across deliverables
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and coordination
