Greenwood College School is seeking a Technician, Multimedia. This is an active recruitment for a full-time position commencing in June 2026.

Compensation & Terms
The expected salary range for this position is $58,000 - $64,000. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Position Summary
The Technician, Multimedia provides exceptional audio-visual and help desk support for school events and operations, ensuring seamless technical execution and a positive user experience. They are responsible for supporting and maintaining the school's audio-visual equipment. This includes operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various electronic devices to ensure optimal performance. The technician will also coordinate with staff to determine AV requirements for events, provide technical support, and manage the inventory of AV equipment.
Responsibilities
Equipment Management and Operation:
- Manage, support, and operate theater, gym auditorium, classroom, and lodge visual audio distribution systems and peripherals (LCD Projectors, Sounds Systems, Interactive Whiteboards, LCD Screens, Document Cameras, Digital Display Screens, etc.).
- Operate sound boards and lighting boards (including LED lighting systems).
- Set up and dismantle AV equipment for events and meetings.
- Maintain inventory of AV equipment and media storage
- Support audio-visual equipment installations and repairs through vendor coordination.
Event Support:
- Provide Audio/Video support for school-wide events (i.e. School Plays, Rental Events, etc.) that take place before or after normal working hours (8:00 am - 4:00 pm).
- Liaise with event coordinators and IT staff to determine AV requirements.
- Set up and support AV equipment for classroom, scheduled events, and meetings.
- Setup-up and support streaming and video conferencing events (i.e. streamyard, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Youtube Streaming).
- Assist with the collection and transfer media formats from functions and events.
- Edit, produce, and archive media using Adobe Cloud software.
Help Desk Support:
- Evaluate new AV technologies to enhance the school's capabilities.
- Provide basic technical support and guidance to teachers and students for academic projects involving video/audio editing and content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Audacity).
- Troubleshoot multimedia applications for staff and students.
- Act as primary and secondary for incoming help desk tickets:
- Audio-visual equipment (primary)
- Desktop and laptop computers (Windows and macOS) (secondary)
- Mobile devices (iOS and Android) (secondary)
- Printers and scanners (secondary)
- Assist users with technical problems mainly in-person and online when required.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support as needed
Additional Duties:
- Operate spotlights and custom lighting systems.
- Operate sound boards and multi-mic systems.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- 2-year college diploma in broadcasting, audio-visual technology, or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in audio-visual support, preferably in an educational or corporate setting
- Experience operating sound boards, lighting boards (including LED lighting systems), and some experience with Crestron units
- Qualification preferred in education audio-visual software (i.e. Adobe Cloud Creative Suite, Streamyard, Handbrake, Audacity)
- Experience with audio-visual mixing boards, wireless microphones, stage lighting, lighting boards, projectors, and sound systems
- Orderly, with strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong technical skills, including cable management and termination
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
