About the Role

Volunteering with Hope House as a Tax Preparer is a rewarding way to give back, build new skills, and make a real difference in the lives of your neighbours. In this role, you will help community members navigate their tax returns, helping lower-income individuals and families access vital tax credits and refunds they rely on.

No previous professional tax experience is required—we provide the necessary training and support to ensure you are confident in the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist local community members in preparing and filing simple income tax returns.
• Review client financial documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure client privacy, confidentiality, and sensitive financial data are protected at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the Hope House Tax Coordinator and fellow volunteers to deliver a warm, supportive experience for all clients.
