Summer Camp Volunteer

Who We Are:
Reena is a non-profit organization that promotes dignity, individuality, independence, personal growth, and community inclusion for people with diverse abilities within a framework of Jewish culture and values since 1973. During the summer, Camp Reena offers a fun and nurturing environment for children, teens, and adults to experience all that a traditional summer camp offers in a program suited to meet the individual needs of our campers. Due to the nature of Reena's work & to protect the privacy of our Reena supported individuals, volunteers and staff, any photographs you plan to add to your portfolio must be cleared by Reena staff.

The Opportunity:
Gain hands-on experience working with individuals who have diverse needs and abilities. Summer Camp Volunteers can expect to create a deep connection with one or two participants at Camp Reena, assist staff in setting up, facilitating & taking down activities, and develop leadership skills.

Volunteers may select up to 4 weeks they do not have to be consecutive from the list below:

1. Camp Reena (Summer 2026)
   An 8-week summer camp program, beginning the week of June 29, 2026.
   We ask for a minimum commitment of at least one full week.

   Program Hours:
   Daily from 8:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (may run later on outing days)

   Camp Weeks:

   • Week 1: June 29 - July 3 (No camp July 1)
   • Week 2: July 6 - July 10
   • Week 3: July 13 - July 17
   • Week 4: July 20 - July 24
   • Week 5: July 27 - July 31
   • Week 6: August 4 - August 7 (No camp August 3)
   • Week 7: August 10 - August 14
   • Week 8: August 17 - August 21
     
   • Please note that all programs take place at our main location:
     927 Clark Ave. West, Thornhill, ON L4J 8G6

Reena requires all volunteers over the age of 18 to obtain and provide a "clear" Vulnerable Sector Screening before beginning their placement, Reena will assist with this process.
