Company Description
Canada U-Tutoring Learning Institute is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing affordable, high-quality education for students from elementary to high school. We offer a variety of on-site and online programs, including tutoring in English, Math, and Science; public speaking; LEGO robotics; STEM programs; test preparation; and summer camp activities.

We aim to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for students while also providing young volunteers with meaningful opportunities to gain experience in education, leadership, communication, and child supervision.

Volunteer Position Summary
The Summer Camp Volunteer supports the daily operation of our summer camp program by assisting staff, instructors, and coordinators with student supervision, activity preparation, attendance support, transitions between activities, classroom setup, and general camp organization.

This is a volunteer position suitable for students who are interested in education, working with children, youth leadership, event support, or gaining practical experience in a professional learning environment. Volunteers will work under the guidance and supervision of camp staff and are not expected to independently manage classrooms or programs.

Responsibilities
Assist with daily summer camp activities and general camp operations.

Support student check-in, attendance tracking, dismissal, and transitions between activities.

Help prepare classrooms, activity materials, and learning spaces.

Support instructors and camp staff during lessons, games, events, and group activities.

Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and organized camp environment.

Assist in supervising students under the guidance of staff members.

Support special events, presentations, performances, and camp activities.

Communicate respectfully with students, staff, and parents under supervision.

Report any behavioural, safety, or operational concerns to supervisors.

Assist with end-of-day cleanup and basic administrative support when needed.

Outstanding volunteers may receive an Excellent Volunteer Certificate.

Volunteers may receive a small appreciation gift at the end of the program.

Strong-performing volunteers may be considered first for future U-Tutoring co-op, internship, or paid work opportunities.

Reference support may be provided for volunteers who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, and professionalism.

Volunteers will gain practical experience in education, child supervision, teamwork, communication, and camp operations.

Qualifications
Must be in Grade 11 or above.

Responsible, reliable, patient, and willing to learn.

Interested in working with children or supporting educational programs.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Able to follow instructions and safety procedures.

Comfortable working in a busy camp environment.

Previous volunteer, tutoring, camp, leadership, or child-related experience is an asset, but not required.

Ability to speak Mandarin and/or English is an asset.
