Job Purpose

The Storytelling Videographer is responsible for editing, producing, and delivering powerful visual stories that inspire Canadians to support World Vision’s mission.

This role is hands-on in every stage of production - from organizing footage to crafting storylines and final exports - ensuring all content is emotionally engaging, on-brand, and aligned with organizational goals.

You will bring creative storytelling, technical precision, and trend awareness together to help audiences see, feel, and act on the impact World Vision Canada makes for children and families worldwide. This role will be working within the Creative Solutions Team, under Brand and Marketing.

Responsibilities

Edit and produce high-impact content

  • Edit the post-production process for domestic and international shoots. Organizing footage, crafting storylines, colour grading, sound mixing, and final delivery across multiple formats and supporter touchpoints. (Website videos, social channels, internal video needs, broadcast cuts, event coverage

Execute global videography and photography projects

  • Capture footage and imagery that authentically showcase World Vision’s work in communities, both in Canada and abroad.

Shape and script stories

  • Write short scripts, captions, or voiceover copy, and contribute to storyboarding and narrative planning to ensure every piece of content connects emotionally and aligns with campaign and brand goals.

Serve as an on-camera host and storyteller

  • Take an on-camera role when required, hosting interviews, behind-the-scenes features, or storytelling segments that help supporters connect more deeply with our mission.

Collaborate across ministries and agile teams

  • Work closely with the Brand, Campaign, and Program teams as well as agile project groups and program managers to ensure content supports organizational OKRs, adheres to brand guidelines, and is delivered on time and within budget.

Champion creative strategy and innovation

  • Consult with key stakeholders to develop and refine visual storytelling approaches that increase impact, efficiency, and innovation across World Vision’s content ecosystem.

Stay in the craft and organized

  • Manage file systems, project archiving, and content libraries to maintain strong version control and easy accessibility across teams. Uphold editing standards and best practices that improve workflow and collaboration.

Know the audience

  • Maintain an understanding of donor segments, audience motivations, and go-to-market strategies to ensure creative assets are relevant, audience-centered, and effective in driving engagement.

Stay ahead of trends

  • Keep current on digital, social, and storytelling trends (e.g., Reels/TikTok editing, captioning best practices, pacing, and vertical formats) to keep World Vision’s content fresh and competitive.

Collaborate globally

  • Build and sustain relationships with World Vision production counterparts across the partnership to share assets, align on storytelling standards, and expand creative capabilities.

Support production excellence

  • Maintain and manage production equipment and editing software; research and recommend new tools or technologies that enhance quality, agility, and creative efficiency.

Identify opportunities for improvement

  • Partner with the Promotional Media team to assess processes, discover new creative opportunities, and identify risks or bottlenecks that could limit delivery or impact.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of creative services experience within a video production team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software (current version), industry-leading video production tools, video processes and practices, on-set etiquette, and current broadcast and streaming standards.
  • Extensive experience in rich media production, encompassing the full creative process, from concept development and storyboarding through filming, editing, and post-production.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in DSLR camera operation
  • Proven on-camera presence and ability to deliver clear, engaging voiceovers to support a variety of video formats and narratives.
  • Experience supervising video production crews and third-party vendors.
  • Creative thinker with an ability to conceptualize vision in relation to brand guidelines.
  • Proven ability to craft clear, engaging copy, with strong writing skills and copywriting experience across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborative and consultative approach from concept to delivery.
  • Dedicated team player willing to participate either as a leader or contributing member based on the project requirements
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication, budget management, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven understanding of marketing and communication strategies and how moving images generate business value while ensuring alignment with WVC standards, brand guidelines and overarching narratives.
