About the Ottawa Parent Resource Centre
The Ottawa Parent Resource Centre (PRC) supports caregivers and families across Ottawa with responsive, evidence-informed programs and services that strengthen parenting capacity, wellbeing, and connection.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Stepping Stones Parent Support Coordinator is a key member of the Ottawa Parent Resource Centre’s (PRC) Family Resilience Program, providing compassionate, evidence-based support to parents and caregivers across the Ottawa community. This role is part of a three-year Minto-funded initiative focused on implementing the Primary Care Stepping Stones Triple P (SSTP) program—an evidence-based parenting program designed for families of children (ages 0–12) with disabilities who are experiencing behavioural or developmental challenges.
In this role, the Coordinator delivers individualized, short-term, skills-based parenting support grounded in the Stepping Stones Triple P model. Services focus on strengthening parenting capacity, supporting positive child development and behaviour, and reducing family stress. The position requires experience working with diverse families, including those navigating developmental disabilities, complex needs, and behavioural challenges, using trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approaches.
The Coordinator also supports the daily operation of the Parent Support Line (PSL), providing timely responses to inquiries, completing triage as appropriate, maintaining accurate and confidential documentation, and connecting families to relevant internal services and community resources. In addition, the role contributes to the broader goals of the Family Resilience Program by supporting parenting workshops, promoting program engagement, and collaborating with team members to ensure coordinated, responsive, and high-quality service delivery for families.
