
Sports Day the Girls' Way Volunteer

Are YOU ready to help change the lives of 600 girls in sport!
The OSEG Foundation, in collaboration with the City of Ottawa, is excited to hold our 5th annual Sports Day the Girl’s Way, presented by Quickie.
The one-day event helps bring girls from grades 4-8 together through the community of sport! You can be a part of creating an environment where girls can gain confidence, try new sports, make friends, and connect with role models in a positive and empowering atmosphere. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in interactive and engaging workshops and activities led by female Olympians, Paralympians, and community sport leaders.
How You’ll Be Making An Impact
- 1 in 3 girls report at least one of these factors preventing them from participating in sport:
- Low confidence
- Negative body image
- Perceived lack of skill
- Poor perceptions of belonging
- Not feeling welcomed
- Through this event you would directly support:
- Increasing sense of belonging and identity
- Increased confidence and self-esteem
- Increased belonging in sport
- Development of leadership and communication skills
When
Monday, October 19, 2026
Volunteer shifts will be from 8 AM – 3 PM
- Covering 4 different sport stations and the arrival + departure of all the girls.
Where
Sports Day the Girl’s Way will be held at TD Place, located in Lansdowne.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and motivating groups of students through different sport stations
- Highlighting your strengths through the multiple positions needed throughout the event.
- Fostering an environment where fun, social belonging, and participation are at the forefront!
Good To Know
- All participants must complete a Vulnerable Sectors Check.
- All participants must be available for a virtual training session prior to the event.
- Parking passes will be provided to all volunteers at the event.
