
Specialist, Program Marketing, Marketing and Communications (Bilingual)
Position Summary
The Specialist, Program Marketing with direction from the Senior Director, Marketing and Communications develops, implements and supports the promotion of CERIC resources, surveys and key programs in English and French to CERIC interestholders. The individual in this role assists with the effective day-to-day marketing, advertising, communications, events and media activities associated with all CERIC projects, websites and publications. The Specialist supports the implementation the CERIC francophone engagement strategy in Quebec and the rest of Canada.
Core Responsibilities
Marketing
- Support the execution of the CERIC Marketing Plan which includes but is not limited to CareerWise/ OrientAction, Cannexus, Canadian Journal of Career Development, webinars/Learning Hub and Graduate Student Engagement Program.
- Effectively implement plan tactics, timelines and budgets including paid, free or contra advertising opportunities; interestholder communications; content development; and social media.
- Promote CERIC’s project funding calls and support communications activities with project partners throughout project development; develop and execute dissemination strategies to market resulting publications, findings and other deliverables.
- Develop and execute communications strategies to drive participation in CERIC surveys and to disseminate resulting findings.
- Collaborate with the Specialist, Digital on email marketing content and campaign strategy, and website/social analytics, providing content direction and program context to inform execution.
- Assist with establishment and deployment of a francophone engagement strategy to build awareness and participation among French-speaking interestholders in Quebec and across Canada.
- Support outreach and engagement strategies to expand CERIC’s reach to broader interestholder audiences, including employers, policymakers and educators.
- Identify external conferences and co-ordinate CERIC participation; support on-site representation at English and French-language events, conferences and tradeshows.
- Co-ordinate outreach to supporting/collaborating partners and other organizations, disseminating promotional materials.
Communications
- Develop, write, edit and format bilingual external communications, including website content such as news updates and resource descriptions, supporting ongoing projects, publications and events.
- Develop content for ads (print, digital) information brochures, presentations, correspondence, reports and media announcements.
- Provide content and direction on the creation and use of infographics, video and other tools to support content dissemination.
- Ensure brand architecture and standards are implemented in all collateral, digital content, publications, presentations and signage.
- Ensure French-language consistency and quality across all CERIC content, applying established terminology and style standards.
- Support media relations activities, as required, including pitch development, media list management, interview coordination and speaking opportunities; track and report on outreach outcomes.
Research
- Conduct research on specific or potential CERIC career development audiences: analyze and update lists, directories and profiles as well as online and in-person outreach.
- Identify and research prospective organizations and individuals within expanding audience segments, including employers, policymakers, educators and francophone interestholders, to support outreach and engagement.
- Research individuals, organizations, media outlets, publications and events for partnership development and project promotion.
- Identify and compile contacts for CERIC events such as roadshows and Cannexus as well as event marketing plans.
- Proactively review and maintain contact records, recommending or making updates, removals or revisions as needed to support ongoing database accuracy.
Other
- Track and report on the outcomes and opportunities of marketing efforts.
- Update the CERIC website and its related websites as required.
- Undertake short translations of English content into French and adapt and review new and existing translations.
- Act as back-up for maintaining and responding on social channels, as required.

Working Conditions
This is a Toronto-based position.
CERIC is committed to providing a flexible, safe, and accessible workspace that supports productivity and well-being. We offer a hybrid work environment, blending weekly remote and in-person work at our Toronto office (2 St. Clair Ave E). While some flexibility in the workday can be accommodated, employees are expected to meet milestones, deliverables, and attend internal and external meetings as required.
Employees must have dependable internet access and a dedicated, quiet, and safe workspace to perform their duties when working remotely effectively.
Education and Experience
- Degree or diploma in marketing, communications or public relations
- Minimum of three to five years’ experience
- Background in marketing preferred
- Bilingual (English/French) mandatory, superior proficiency

Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent writing skills in English and French
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Good understanding of and ability to effectively apply artificial intelligence tools; knowledge of AI systems such as Claude considered an asset
- Persuasive negotiation, communications and presentation abilities in both English and French
- Sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience working with open-source websites such as WordPress
- Knowledge of social media and other new media
- Knowledge of email marketing and database platforms such as MailChimp and customer relationship management systems
- Knowledge of design programs such as Canva, InDesign and Photoshop an asset
- Exceptional project management and time management skills required with detail-oriented work style
