Position Purpose summary:
The Corporate Partnerships Specialist will work with internal and external stakeholders to assist the Director of Development, Partnerships & Stewardship, with the creation and execution of corporate partnership programs. With a well-developed fundraising skillset, the incumbent will assist with the solicitation and acquisition of new corporate partners and donors as well as the stewardship of existing corporate partners and donors.
This is a full-time, 12-18 month contract role. The successful candidate may work from a home office anywhere in Canada, or from our office at 2 Overlea Blvd in Toronto. Key Accountabilities:
- Development of Corporate Partnerships
- Prospect as required for new corporate partners
- Advise on developing strategic corporate partnership programs centered on territorial and divisional priorities and the needs of new and existing corporate partners and donors
- Collaborate with relevant personnel across the divisions to on partnership initiatives as required
- Manage timelines and key deliverables to ensure adherence to stated deadlines
- Create a complete and up-to-date deliverables matrix
- Christmas Kettles
- Work cross-functionally with relevant personnel to support corporate kettle partners in a successful annual Kettle campaign for the territory
- Execute deliverables in adherence to stated deadlines
- Maintain accurate and detailed records throughout the yearly Kettles initiative and beyond
- Assist with solicitation of new corporate Kettles partners
- Lead post-campaign corporate stewardship efforts
Administration
- Provide departmental back-up as needed
- Member of the Development department, work cooperatively as part of the Territorial Communications team to serve donors and supporters of The Salvation Army
- Other duties as assigned
Critical Relationship Management:
Internal relationships:
- Key working relationships with divisional team leads
- Key working relationships with relevant Marketing and Communications personnel
- Key working relationships with finance and divisions
External relationships:
- Responsible for working relationships with external partners focusing on partnership acquisition and development
- Communicating with corporate donors and partners via written reports, phone and email
Managerial/Technical Leadership responsibility:
- Reports directly to the Director of Development, Partnerships & Stewardship
- Provide occasional ongoing technical advice, guidance, reporting, instruction, project coordination and workflow oversight

- Working environment is typically in the office, remote home office may be considered from across Canada
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Completion of a university program in a relevant specialized area consisting of four academic years in a relevant area.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in events, corporate partnerships, or fundraising position
- Graphic design and/or creation of corporate presentations using Canva
Skills and Capabilities
- Solid relationship management skills
- Exhibits tact, good judgment, and diplomacy
- Eager to expand knowledge of acquisition, execution, and stewardship of long-term corporate partnerships
- Willingness to prospect/cold call
- Ability to persevere and lead projects to meet expected outcomes
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or Canva
- A demonstrated understanding of philanthropic trends both nationally and internationally
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Understand the criticality of deadlines and meets or exceeds expectations
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands
- Ensure compliance with all policies, regulations, and laws
