We are seeking individuals passionate about making a difference in their community to join a team of dedicated volunteers in the role of Social Media Volunteer.

All volunteer positions at Crohn’s and Colitis Canada require a conversation to discuss the role and your goals for volunteering.
Are you the right fit for the team?
As the Social Media Volunteer, you will run local social media channels in Halifax, NS to increase online engagement with Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s constituents, including:
- Adhering to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada policies and procedures, including the Volunteer Code of Conduct
- Planning and executing the online content for regional Crohn’s and Colitis Canada social media pages
- Engaging with followers in a respectful and informative manner
- Responding to various social media inquiries effectively
- Growing the following and engagement on regional social media pages
Location: Remote
Time Commitment:
- 1-2 hours/week
- Be active on social media platforms at least 2-3 times/week, sharing at least two items per platform per week (there may be times of higher/lower activity- these will be communicated), plus on-call, reactive monitoring of content to escalate concerns
- Daytime preferred due to meetings with staff partner
- 1-year commitment
What you bring:
- Experience with social media platforms, content development, and existing activity/accounts
- Strong English communication skills (verbal/written), French an asset
- Proven experience in growing follower engagement on social media pages
- A professional demeanour and the ability to interact with diverse individuals online
- Willingness to use and adapt social media templates provided by Crohn's and Colitis Canada
