Position Overview
The Social Media Marketing – Educational Content Creator (Child Development Focus) Volunteer/Intern is responsible for creating meaningful, informative, and engaging content that supports parents, caregivers, and educators in understanding child development and early learning.
This role focuses on translating child development concepts into simple, practical, and visually engaging content for social media platforms. The content will highlight play-based learning, developmental milestones, parenting tips, and educational activities aligned with the organization’s programs and values.
Working closely with the program and marketing teams, this role helps position the organization as a trusted resource for families and the community.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong interest or background in child development, early childhood education, or parenting education
- Ability to simplify educational concepts into easy-to-understand content
- Basic content creation skills (graphics, captions, short videos)
- Strong written communication skills (clear, engaging, and informative tone)
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
- Ability to create content that is both educational and engaging
- Organized and able to follow a content schedule
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
- Background or coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE), child psychology, or education
- Experience working with children, families, or educational programs
- Knowledge of developmental milestones and play-based learning approaches
- Experience using Canva, CapCut, or similar tools
- Basic understanding of social media trends and engagement strategies
- Experience creating educational or parenting-related content
