Position Title: Social Media & Digital Communications Volunteer

Organization: Alliance for CancerCare Equity (ACCE)

Location: Remote

Time Commitment: 3-6 hours/week (flexible)

Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing Recruitment

Duration: 6 – 12 months (flexible)

Job Summary

Are you passionate about storytelling, social impact, and digital media? Join ACCE as a Social Media

& Digital Communications Volunteer and play a vital role in raising awareness, engaging

communities, and amplifying the voices of cancer patients in need. You’ll help us grow our online

presence and inspire action through compelling content across platforms. You’ll help us share inspiring

stories of hope and raise funds for lifesaving cancer treatments in Ghana and Canada. You will be our

voice on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter etc.

Whether you’re a student, a communications enthusiast, or a professional looking to give back, this is

your opportunity to use your digital skills for a meaningful cause—and build your portfolio while doing

it!

Key Responsibilities


• Plan, create, and schedule engaging content (graphics, videos, stories, reels, etc.) for platforms

like Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn


• Manage and grow ACCE’s social media presence with a consistent brand voice


• Write short, impactful captions and posts to support fundraising campaigns, patient stories, and

events


• Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages, and interact with followers


• Analyze performance and recommend content improvements (based on insights and trends)


• Support in updating the website or newsletter (optional, depending on interest/skills)


• Collaborate with the CEO to align messaging


• Suggest creative ideas to increase donation

Required Skills & Qualities


• Experience with or strong interest in social media and digital storytelling


• Basic design and content creation skills (e.g. Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools)


• Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail


• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines


• A genuine passion for social causes, health equity, global health or nonprofit work


• Familiarity with social media scheduling tools (e.g. Buffer, Meta Business Suite) is a plus


• Photography, videography, or basic video editing skills are an asset (not required)


• SEO knowledge is an asset (not required)
