Content Creation & Social Media Volunteer

TEAO is looking for creative, curious, and community-minded volunteers who are interested in content creation, social media, digital storytelling, and communications.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience creating content for a growing mental health and trauma advocacy organization while helping us share important information, increase awareness, and connect with our community.

Whether you enjoy making videos, designing graphics, writing captions, creating social media posts, or keeping up with digital trends, we’d love to hear from you.

Who This Is For

This opportunity is ideal for someone who is:

• Building or refining a content creation, social media, communications, or digital storytelling portfolio
• Interested in mental health, trauma-informed care, accessibility, advocacy, or social impact
• Curious about platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, or other social media platforms
• Interested in learning how organizations use social media to build community and create meaningful engagement
• Looking for practical experience and the opportunity to have their work credited
• Creative, reliable, and comfortable bringing their own ideas to the table
• Aligned with ethical and respectful storytelling

You do not need to be an expert or have professional experience. We value creativity, curiosity, willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in the work we do.

What You’ll Work On

Depending on your interests and strengths, you may support or lead content such as:

Social Media Content

• Instagram Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, and other short-form videos
• Instagram carousels, graphics, and story content
• LinkedIn posts and other educational or organizational content
• Captions, copy, and calls to action
• Community engagement and interactive content
• Trend-aware content that remains aligned with TEAO’s values

Digital Storytelling

• Content that introduces people to TEAO and our work
• Educational content related to mental health, trauma, recovery, and community care
• Behind-the-scenes content and organizational storytelling
• Volunteer and community spotlights
• Awareness campaigns and advocacy content
• Content highlighting TEAO programs, initiatives, events, and resources

Creative & Visual Content

• Graphic design and social media templates
• Video editing
• Photography or short-form video
• Developing creative concepts and content series
• Repurposing existing content across different platforms

You won’t be expected to do everything. We’ll work with you to determine a role and scope that fits your skills, interests, and availability.

• Flexible commitment: approximately 3–6 hours per week, depending on your availability and role
