Providence is a vibrant, registered charity with a long-established history of providing therapeutic and educational services to families across our 7 schools and childcare facilities in Calgary and surrounding area. Our programs are designed to support young children who may not be meeting typical developmental milestones. Providence provides the opportunity to enhance the health and development of children and their families. Providence is growing and hiring! We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Resource Development Department as a Senior Resource Development Officer (Fundraising). The hours of work are from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, on site. It is an expectation at Providence that all employees are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. Position Summary:

The Senior Resource Development Officer (Fundraising) plays a key role in driving Providence’s fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Manager, Resource Development, this position is primarily responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of corporate and individual donors. Working closely with the Resource Development team, the Officer will support initiatives that grow revenue, deepen donor engagement, and expand community support for Providence’s mission. This role will contribute to the development and execution of innovative fundraising strategies and campaigns, with a focus on annual giving, major gifts, and sponsorships. In addition to core fundraising responsibilities, the position supports the department with marketing, communications, and administrative functions, and collaborates across Providence programs to align fundraising messages and strengthen donor impact. • Experience with large-scale events, volunteer committees, and event promotion is a plus


• Collaborative, community-focused, and comfortable in non-profit sectors


• Proficient with social media (Facebook, Instagram) and MS Office Suite


• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and analytical skills


• Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks


• Flexible schedule and ability to drive within Calgary


• Must be flexible to work outside of their scheduled hours for meetings, etc.

Responsibilities Include:


• Build, manage and maintain a portfolio of corporate and individual donors, including monthly donor

program


• Implement robust donor stewardship practices including regular communication, personalized

updates on the impact of donations, and recognition events to maintain long-term relationships


• Cultivate and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, corporations, and

other key stakeholders to secure major gifts and long-term funding commitments


• Manage a portfolio of grant proposals (to be determined annually), including researching and writing

compelling grant proposals to secure funding from foundations and government agencies


• Collaborate with Resource Development team to develop and implement a comprehensive resource

development plan aligned with organizational priorities, including identification of potential funding

sources, target donor segments, and fundraising strategies to bring more support to Providence


• Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and networking opportunities to

promote fundraising initiatives and build relationships with potential donor


• Donation processing, update and maintain Raiser’s Edge database


• Prepare and maintain financial reports including donor, reconciliation and grant reports


• Co-ordinate, recruit, train and work with resource development volunteers


• Contribute resource development related content and posts to Providence’s social media pages


• Provide support to the Providence school program in relation to student enrollment, program growth,

as well as parent and family connections and support


• Support with the development and timely completion of school programming enhancement

initiatives

Qualifications:


• Graduate of a relevant degree in fundraising, marketing, communications, public relations, non-profit management or related education is required.


• Minimum of 5 years fundraising experience with demonstrated comfort in asking for annual gifts, major gifts and sponsorships.


• Must be comfortable speaking confidently in front of groups and engaging with diverse audiences.


• Must have experience with Raiser’s Edge database, grant writing and prospect research


• In-depth understanding of communication best practices and experience dealing with external audiences, community partners and media.


• Adobe Creative Cloud experience considered an asset.


• Graphic design experience considered an asset.


• Valid Driver’s license, must have own vehicle and willing to travel within Calgary and to surrounding areas.
