Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director, Projects, the Senior Project Manager leads the planning, execution, and evaluation of high-impact projects and HR focused initiatives. This role oversees complex, cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and meaningful outcomes for THRC and its stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end management of multiple high leverage projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery within scope and budget.
  • Activities include managing all project activities within grants and contribution agreements including outputs, and outcomes related to the project and administration, reporting, budget development and monitoring, execution of project plans, and project performance.
  • Review document/resource content and training and course material to ensure it meets THRC standards of excellence before publication.
  • Collaborate with team members as well as internal or external consultants to fulfill identified objectives applying technical and theoretical skills to satisfy project requirements
  • Identify and manage project risks and develop solutions to mitigate those risks.
  • Conduct periodic and post-project reviews to ensure projects are on track
  • Facilitate meetings to build positive relationships with stakeholders, contractors and management; and conduct follow-up on projects including working group meetings, project status presentations, etc.
  • Remain knowledgeable on industry issues, trends, and more that can impact organizational initiatives.
  • Support Director, Projects and Chief Operating Officer and other staff in key program areas as needed.
  • Support proposal writing as needed.
  • Represent THRC at industry events and other functions as requested.
  • Other duties as required that fall within the overall scope of the position

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Key Competencies:

  • Minimum of seven years of work experience in a nonprofit project management capacity or relevant experience. Preference is given to experience managing governmental grants and contribution agreements.
  • University degree in social science or related field or combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies
  • PMP Certification – an asset
  • CHRP Certification – an asset
  • Strong relationship building capability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills
  • Organized, attention to detail
  • Experience in the trucking industry – an asset
  • Bilingual (English/French) a strong asset.
  • Working Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
