Job Purpose

The Senior Product Designer on the Engagement team (within Growth) oversees the UX/UI and marketing campaign strategy on worldvision.ca for lead and donor engagement. This role is responsible for user research, prototyping, user-centred and persona-centred design, customer- and user-journey flow through digital channels and working to critique and implement excellent user-interfaces, as well as user experiences, online. This role is crucial in driving growth and customer acquisition, requiring an in-depth understanding of design tools, platforms, and design analytics. The Senior Product Designer also plays a key role in team leadership, fostering innovation, and ensuring that all marketing efforts are synergistic and aligned with business objectives. 

We hold this role accountable for: 

  • Product Strategy: Leading the end-to-end product design process from discovery to delivery. 
  • Marketing Campaign Design: Own the end-to-end design of marketing campaigns, including concept development, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups and final assets. 
  • User Research: Conducting user research (interviews, surveys, usability testing) to understand user needs and pain points.  
  • Information Architecture: Organizing and structuring content in a way that is intuitive and easy to navigate.  
  • Wireframing and Prototyping: Creating low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes to visualize and test design solutions.  
  • User Interface (UI) Design: Collaborating with UI designers to ensure a consistent and visually appealing user interface that reflects the empathy of user personas. 
  • Usability Testing: Conducting usability testing to identify areas for improvement in the user experience.  
  • User Experimentation: Planning, conducting and measuring user experiments across our campaigns and evergreen presence, and presenting learning back to the team and business to improve our performance. 
  • Collaboration: Working closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs align with business goals and technical feasibility.  
  • Accessibility: Ensuring designs meet WCAG 2.0 guidelines.  
  • Iterative Design: Continuously refining designs based on user feedback and data analysis. 

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design of marketing campaigns, including concept development, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups and final assets. 
  • Own and continue to refine personas, customer journeys, and customer attitudes, needs and value canvasses for the Engagement team, and on behalf of Brand & Marketing more generally. 
  • Own, plan and run customer / lead / user research to understand, diagnose and optimize lead journeys, user experiences across channels, and user needs across our digital estate. 
  • Own and iterate our Information Architecture for our logged-out website experience at Worldvision.ca, working across the Growth team, and more widely with the business, to continue to refine website structure and customer experience. 
  • Lead on the definition of customer and user experiences on our website, and on the wireframing, pre-prototyping, prototyping and testing of these for maximum impact. 
  • Working with engineers, agencies, designers and copywriters to create appropriate UI designs for web experiences. 
  • Working with Product Owner to ensure the right new experiences, templates, tools and designs are sponsored and prioritized with our development teams, for constant improvement of our online real estate for our customers. 
  • Champion a growth mindset, continuously seeking opportunities to learn, iterate and improve design outcomes. 
  • Deeply understand and map user journeys, identifying pain points and opportunities to enhance the overall experience; and design with a strategic lens on lead journey management, ensuring seamless transitions from awareness to conversion. 
  • Apply principles of conversion optimization to drive measurable improvements in user engagement and business metrics. 

Leadership:

  • Maintaining knowledge of industry best practices on user testing, usability, accessibility and user-centred design, including devising and leading channel experiments to widen our knowledge of these disciplines with regards to our audiences. 
  • Leading on our accessibility research, understanding, and execution, ensuring our web and channel experiences are aligned with global W3C WCAG guidelines 
  • Leading on best-practice in UX and user-journey design – ensuring our personas, their needs and value canvasses, are up to date and at the forefront of how we design experiences. 
  • Leading on initial design, prototyping and ideation processes (through double diamond-based methodology) for our web and channel experiences  
  • Leading on mentoring other designers and specialists in the team on how agile user-centred design works, and the expectations and plans for iterative design, testing and development throughout projects. 

User Data Testing & Tracking

  • Leading on usability testing, journey testing, and tracking of data and results around user experience, feedback and usability research, and sharing with the team and other stakeholders as appropriate 
  • Leading on planning, tracking and reporting on usability and functional experiments on our website, ensuring we are adopting an attitude and methodology of constant testing and refinement. 
  • Working with Analytics leads to ensure our website and digital experiences are fully capable of delivering the right data, analysis and feedback to enable better user-centred design 
  • Working with Product Owner to ensure user-feedback tools, methods and opportunities are appropriately prioritized 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in UX design  
  • Proven experience in delivering Information Architectures, UX on website projects and campaign designs
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles. 
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma. 
  • Knowledge of digital analysis tools such as HotJar, Adobe Analytics, etc. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Ability to synthesize research findings and translate them into design solutions. 
  • Knowledge of user research methodologies. 
  • Deep skills in analysis of performance, behaviour and user commentary across digital channels
  • Experience managing agencies and third-party vendors 
  • Experience working with and contributing to design systems 
  • Proven experience as a UX lead, with minimum of 3 years in B2C web design 
  • Strong understanding of Lean Agile Scrum principles and methodologies 
  • Qualification in double-diamond or similar UX methodology 
  • Strong people management skills and experience 
  • Experience in Agile with preferred qualifications, but solid working experience accepted 
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable with both high-level planning and tactical execution 
  • Able to excel in a dynamic environment while managing several projects simultaneously 
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to realize maximum value 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data driven decisions especially when needing to make trade-offs 
  • Able to navigate the organization and influence through indirect leadership and relationship capital, especially with design colleagues outside of the Growth Team 
  • Other personal attributes: ambitious, assertive, energetic, enthusiastic, confident, optimistic, inquisitive, persuasive, and motivational 
  • Nonprofit experience would be an asset
