Reporting to the VP, People and Culture, the Senior Manager of Learning and Development (L&D) is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive learning strategy that supports the growth and development of staff across the organization. This role ensures that all learning initiatives align with the organization's mission, promote service excellence, and foster an inclusive, engaged, and capable team. The Senior Manager, Learning and Development works collaboratively with senior leadership to assess training needs and advance professional development throughout the organization.

What You Will Do:
Below is just some of the exciting work this position will be responsible for:
Strategy Development and Leadership
- Design and implement a multi-year learning and development strategy aligned with our strategic plan goals and initiatives.
- Establish measurable learning outcomes tied to employee engagement, retention, and service delivery quality.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership regarding workforce capability building.
Training Program Design and Delivery
- Coordinate, organize, administer, and track compliance of training programs to ensure no staff are left behind, that the experience of training is exceptional for all involved, and to ensure that the organization has accurate training records to support compliance.
- Develop and deliver in-house training programs, leadership development initiatives, mentorship opportunities, and onboarding experiences.
- Embed trauma-informed principles in the development, facilitation, and evaluation of training programs, particularly those related to frontline service delivery, client interaction, DEIA, and organizational wellness.
- Curate external learning resources and partnerships (e.g., colleges, sector associations).
- Utilize diverse learning modalities, including virtual learning, in-person workshops, and blended models.
Needs Assessment and Evaluation
- Conduct organizational learning needs assessments, surveys, and focus groups.
- Implement robust evaluation frameworks to measure program effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Produce quarterly reports on learning outcomes and participation rates.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA)
- Embed principles of DEIA across all learning and development initiatives.
- Develop specialized training to support cultural competence, accessibility, anti-oppressive practices and organizational Truth and Reconciliation efforts.
- In collaboration with the Director of Wellness, DEIA, and Employee Engagement and in alignment with our DEIA Roadmap, create pathways to advancement for equity seeking and high priority staff groups.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in learning and development, preferably within the not-for-profit sector.
- Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation is an asset.
- Proven experience designing leadership development programs and succession pipelines.
- Demonstrated experience with evaluating and measuring effectiveness of Learning and Development programs.
- Experience in trauma-informed approaches to learning and restorative justice practices is considered an asset.
- Strong facilitation and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility practices.
- Proficiency with e-learning platforms, learning management systems, and Microsoft 365.
- Excellent project management, analytical, and communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits:
- For the Senior Manager, Learning and Development, Fred Victor offers a salary range of $77,161.50 - $88,608.00 per year.
- 4 weeks of vacation to start + 1 float day
