Salary Range: $80,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experience, plus generous benefits and performance-based bonus opportunities.

Reports to: Member of Parliament, Julie Dzerowicz

Work Requirements: Occasional evenings and weekends; infrequent travel may be required.

Help Build a Stronger Community

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy constituency office serving this Toronto community.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about public service, enjoys leading people, and takes pride in creating systems that ensure things run smoothly. Must be able to notice details, follow through on commitments, solve problems and bring compassion and clarity to help others succeed.

Working closely with the Member of Parliament, you will lead a small team responsible for community outreach, constituent services, communications, events, stakeholder relationships, and office operations. You will help translate the Member's priorities into action, ensuring commitments are delivered, relationships are nurtured, and the office operates effectively. Your leadership will allow the Member to focus on serving constituents and advancing key priorities in the community and nationally. This role is ideal for an experienced operational leader who is ready to serve as the Member's trusted right hand, ensuring priorities are executed, commitments are followed through, and the office operates at a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and support staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented culture.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison between the Member and staff.
  • Organize team workload to support the Member's strategic and evolving priorities.

Office Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the constituency office.
  • Establish and maintain systems that ensure correspondence, requests, meetings, casework, outreach activities, and events are managed effectively.
  • Ensure commitments are tracked, deadlines are met, and follow-up occurs consistently.
  • Manage office budgets, financial administration, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with House of Commons policies, procedures, and administrative requirements.

Community Outreach and Stakeholder Relations

  • Oversee the scheduling and delivery of the Member's priority meetings, events, outreach activities, and community engagements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, local leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the Member professionally when required.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the Member's community presence and impact.

Information and Systems Management

  • Ensure constituent and stakeholder information is accurately maintained.
  • Oversee the use of databases and client relationship management systems.
  • Develop processes that improve efficiency, accountability, and responsiveness.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.

Qualifications

We recognize that strong candidates come from a variety of professional backgrounds. Experience in politics is not required.

The successful candidate will typically bring:

  • A university degree, college diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience managing people, operations, projects, or service delivery.
  • Experience building effective teams, improving organizational systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated communication, relationship-building, and organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated judgement, discretion, and professionalism.
