The Community Services (CS) department at Fred Victor is a multi-service, multi-site structure that encompasses the 40 Oak Community HUB and community programs, Consumption and Treatment Services (Supervised Consumption Service), Employment and Training Services, Drop-Ins, Warming and Keep Cool Programs and Food Services.
Additionally, it operates a social purpose enterprise with catering services and spearheads a significant Peer Training Initiative that prioritizes the involvement of individuals with lived experience.
Fred’s Kitchen is Fred Victor’s innovative social enterprise catering business, dedicated to delivering exceptional catering experiences across the city, serving everything from events to community-focused meals for shelters and housing programs. We prioritize not only outstanding food but also creating meaningful employment and skill-building opportunities for individuals facing barriers to employment. Passionate about crafting delicious, purposeful meals made with care, Fred’s Kitchen nourishes both our clients and the broader community. Fred Victor is seeking an experienced Catering Business Senior Manager to lead and expand Fred’s Kitchen catering operations. This role is responsible for driving business development by cultivating new client relationships and managing all catering proposals, including events catering, and our community catering to shelter and housing programs.
The Catering Business Manager will collaborate closely with chefs, culinary and delivery teams to ensure that food moves efficiently from procurement and preparation through to timely service, delivering high-quality meals from stove to table within defined service windows. The role upholds strong quality, presentation, service and brand standards that embody Fred’s Kitchen’s commitment to culinary excellence and social impact.
The primary goals for this role are to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, build our brand standards and achieve a new revenue growth target of $180,000- within the first 18 months.

What You Will Do:
- Lead strategic initiatives to grow Fred’s Kitchen catering business across multiple sectors, including events, and our shelters, and housing program catering.
- Manage and respond promptly to all catering inquiries and requests for proposals, ensuring accurate, competitive estimates tailored to client needs, service timelines and program requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, community organizations, shelters, and housing providers to maximize catering opportunities aligned with Fred’s Kitchen’s values.
- Collaborate with our marketing and outreach team to promote Fred’s Kitchen’s innovative culinary offerings, training programs and identify new growth channels.
- Track sales performance and adjust strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets, specifically aiming for $180,000 in new catering revenue within first 18 months.
Client Relations & Proposal Management
- Oversee the entire client journey from initial inquiry through proposal submission, contract negotiation, and successful event execution for all event types, including shelter and housing catering.
- This includes ensuring Ensure that all catering services consistently meet contractual service, quality and delivery established quality standards with particular attention to service timing and food quality at point of delivery.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with clients to ensure expectations, logistics, and Fred Victor’s social mission are well aligned. Ongoing communication with new clients to ensure their satisfaction and foster strong, lasting relationships.

- Conduct presentations to showcase the quality and social value of Fred’s Kitchen offerings made with care, quality ingredients, and a commitment to community.
- Implement proactive follow-up practices to promote customer retention and generate referral business.
Quality, Presentation, Service Flow & Brand Standards Development
- Partner with chefs and culinary staff to create and maintain high standards for food quality and presentation, and consistency across for all types of catering orders, including specialized shelter and housing menus.
- Oversee end-to-end food flow, from ingredient sourcing and inventory management through preparation, plating, delivery, and service ensuring meals move efficiently from stove to table.
- Develop, document, and enforce catering policies, service timelines, and handoff protocols to support timely, safe, and high-quality meal service across all sites. and procedures to ensure consistency and excellence across all events and deliveries.
- Monitor food production, service flows, leftovers and waste, implementing concerning continuous improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce delays, and maintain cost control. Operations for continuous quality improvement and client satisfaction.
- Oversee logistic planning to guarantee timely, safe delivery and setup.
- Set standards of customer relations, expectations and implement strong service processes for the catering and delivery team.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and empower the catering, culinary, and delivery teams to deliver outstanding service aligned with Fred’s Kitchen’s mission and values of inclusion, respect, and community impact.
- Facilitate open communication and collaboration between sales, culinary, procurement and delivery teams for smooth event execution.
- Encourage continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
Operations & Reporting
- Manage catering budgets, vendor relationships, procurement, and inventory control to maximize operational efficiency and financial sustainability.
- Ensure alignment between menu planning, inventory availability, production capacity, and service timelines.
- Utilize Fred’s Kitchen’s inventory management systems and Flex Catering point of sale and quality performance reporting.
- Report regularly to Fred Victor leadership on sales progress, client satisfaction metrics, and operational outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, storage, and handling standards throughout the supply chain and service process
What You Bring to the Team:
- 3-5 years’ experience in catering management or sales, including managing diverse event and program catering proposals.
- Demonstrated success in growing catering revenue and managing complex proposals, accounts and achieving revenue goals.
- Strong knowledge of food quality, safety standards, logistics across diverse catering environments and presentation, for varied client needs including shelter and housing catering.
- Exceptional communication, customer service, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment managing multiple priorities.
- Proven leadership skills with passion for social enterprise, workforce development, and community impact.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and comfortable navigating the GTA is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits:
- For the Senior Manager, Catering Business, Fred Victor offers a salary range of $80,164.50 to $100,191.00
- 4 weeks of vacation to start + 1 float day
