What You Will Do:

The Senior Manager of 145 Queen Housing will be responsible to manage the day-to-day operations of Fred Victor’s Permanent Housing Program at 145 Queen St East. The program provides 76 units of rent geared to income housing. The Senior Manager of 145 Housing will implement a model that reflects the principles of community development, harm reduction, trauma informed care, Housing First, eviction prevention and fosters tenant involvement. The preferred candidate will excel in providing effective services for tenants who are marginalized in our society and in coaching and assisting staff to manage the day-to-day challenges that the tenants and the programs encounter.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • 2 years’ experience in managing housing in a not-for-profit setting
  • 2 years’ experience supervising, managing, evaluating, training and coaching staff in a unionized environment
  • Extensive experience working with people who have experienced homelessness and poverty and the discrimination facing this community
  • Extensive experience working with people who come from diverse racial, gender, ethnic and cultural backgrounds who have experienced varying degrees of mental health, social isolation and substance use.
  • Proven experience with case management models and motivational interviewing strategies
  • Thorough understanding of systemic issues that impact low-income tenants
  • Highly developed skills in community development and team building  Proven financial and budgeting skills

What Sets You Apart:

  • Extensive experience working with people who are homeless, who have histories of homelessness and/or who are living in deep poverty
  • Extensive knowledge of community-based resources
  • Proven ability to work from a trauma informed, client-centered, harm reduction and housing first approach.
  • Working knowledge of palliative care approaches
  • Working knowledge of restorative and transformative justice approaches
  • Extensive advocacy, crisis intervention, prevention, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to challenge organization, staff and tenant communities in a positive and creative way to effect better service.
  • Experience in supportive service coordination, collaboration and working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Highly developed ability to plan and prioritise work
  • Ability to be part of the on-call rotation and ability to work afternoon, evenings and weekends as required.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • For the Senior Manager, 145 Queen Housing, Fred Victor offers a salary range of $80,164.50 - $100,191.00
  • 4 weeks of vacation to start + 1 float day
