Senior Financial Analyst - Amplify Mission is pleased to partner with our Client, The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC), to fill the role of Senior Financial Analyst. This is a hybrid role based in their Mississauga Office in Ontario.

About the Senior Financial Analyst Role

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, compliance, and systems improvement in alignment with CRA regulations for registered charities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical insight, and adaptability to support informed decision-making and maintain the organization’s financial health.

Specifically, in this role you’d be responsible for:

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including T3010 filings.
  • Conducting variance analysis and providing actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI.
  • Supporting the preparation of audit working papers and liaising with external auditors.
  • Supporting the annual budgeting process and monitoring actuals vs. budget.
  • Reviewing and posting journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting standards for not-for-profits (ASNPO) and CRA charity regulations.
  • Leveraging ERP systems (e.g., Business Central) to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Assisting in risk assessments and internal audits.
  • Training and supporting staff in financial systems and reporting tools.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • A committed Christian faith and alignment with PAOC’s mission and values.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis or accounting.
  • A CPA designation (or in final stages of completion).
  • Experience in the not-for-profit or charitable sector is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to mentor and train others in financial systems.
  • Comfort managing multiple legal entities and currencies.
  • Familiarity with fund accounting and donor reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of CRA charity compliance requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI and ERP systems (e.g., Business Central) is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment: This is a 1-year contract position based in Mississauga, ON. The role follows a Monday - Friday schedule of 37.5 working hours per week, plus a paid 30-minute lunch each day. It is primarily hybrid, requiring on-site presence one day per week. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible, ideally in September.
