Reports to: Director of Corporate and Community Giving
Hiring Range: $78,000-$85,000 annually, including a comprehensive benefits plan, pension plan, three weeks paid vacation (increasing to four weeks in your second year), a December break (usually a week) to recharge, wellness days, access to an Employee Assistance Program, and professional development opportunities.

About the Position:
Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Community Giving, the Senior Development Officer, Corporate Giving (SDO, Corporate Giving) will play an important role in driving the organization's annual fundraising efforts. This includes securing new corporate partners, building and nourishing relationships, coordinating and developing sponsorship opportunities, and fulfilling corporate grants. The successful candidate will be instrumental in increasing corporate giving revenue and deepening engagement, and will play a key role in implementing new processes and tools, working strategically to ensure that corporate relationships and sponsorships align with and support the organization’s mission. This includes developing and implementing successful events, campaigns, and other collaborations, with the goal of supporting Right To Food’s work in building stronger, more connected communities through the power of food.
Key Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Director of Corporate and Community Giving, this role will support the following areas:
Corporate Giving Portfolio Management
- Manage a pipeline of up to 100+ corporate prospects and donors, focusing on new accounts, renewals, and growth to expand corporate giving of 5-6 figure accounts.
- Play an active part in meeting and exceeding the corporate revenue goal against the annual target.
- Retain and grow existing corporate relationships and ongoing prospecting of new corporate donors.
- Support the Director (and senior members of the team) to build funding proposals and customized corporate packages aligned with objectives for all levels of corporate giving.
- Identify opportunities for new assets and corporate offerings (such as employee engagement, sponsorships, cause marketing, and digital marketing) and continually assess the value they create for Right To Food and corporations, making strategic recommendations and changes as required.
- Manage and build a national employee volunteerism program in collaboration with community food partners and colleagues across departments.
- Stay up-to-date on industry benchmarks and innovations, and adopt a testing mentality to continually refine and improve results.
Relationship Management
- Support in the management of corporate relationships with all existing corporate accounts.
- Meet with current and potential corporate donors to build relationships through active listening and tailored offerings that align with joint goals, objectives, and values.
- Build meaningful relationships across the organization to identify new corporate giving opportunities for Right To Food that can add value for partner community food organizations, Right To Food’s national programs, and cross-departmental goals and objectives.
- Ensure ongoing engagement and recognition of corporate donors through reports, donor meetings, events, and impact updates.
Development and Application of Systems, Processes, Tools, Resources, and Templates
- Support the development of a clear process from qualification and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship.
- Develop supporting tools and templates as needed (for example, asset packaging, contracts, fulfillment monitoring, proposals, pitch decks, etc.).
- Maintain accurate records of corporate contributions and interactions in Salesforce.
- Work with other team members to maintain accurate reports and information in Salesforce.
- Utilize, revise, and update prospect screening criteria to ensure alignment with Right To Food’s brand and values.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working in a non-profit organization.
- Knowledge of the Canadian charitable sector, including fundraising best practices, stewardship practices, and emerging corporate philanthropy trends, and a demonstrated commitment to professional growth.
- Strong relationship-building skills with progressive experience building and managing multiple corporate relationships simultaneously.
- Demonstrated success in managing and securing gifts in the 5 to 6 figure range.
- Ability to effectively communicate the vision and key messages of Right To Food.
- Excellent communication skills, including experience pitching, negotiating, and fulfilling corporate sponsorships.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Strategic and creative thinker, with the ability to implement fundraising strategies to secure new partnerships and grow existing ones.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to use sound judgment, maintain discretion, and navigate sensitive situations with integrity and flexibility.
- Ability to adapt an entrepreneurial mindset – proactively researching and pursuing new opportunities.
- Passionate about Right To Food’s mission and vision in addressing food insecurity.
- Experience in corporate activations, including events, volunteerism, and employee engagement.
- Must be digitally savvy with the ability to navigate and adapt to evolving technology in a fast-paced digital environment.

Preferred:
- CFRE or other relevant fundraising education.
- Comfort using Google Workspace (or similar tools), project management software like ClickUp, and CRM platforms (we use Salesforce), along with openness to learning new digital tools and workflows
