Senior and Law Enforcement Together Committee Member
Position: SALT Committee Member
Volunteer Type: In Person
Location: SPLC and local community 3333 Finch Ave E, Scarborough
Hours of work: First Thursday of every month 11am – 12pm & special events
Volunteers Needed: Join our Team! We are looking for 2 or more volunteers
Reports To: Health Promotions Team Leader
Application Deadline: Until the position is filled
Position Summary: To help in planning, organizing and implementing activities i.e. workshops, campaigns, and displays. An opportunity to meet new people and help older adults from being victimized.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings.
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of SALT activities.
- Assist in the set-up, registration during activities.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer-literate and has an email account since communication is mostly sent via emails.
Boundaries/Limitations
- Not obliged to answer all questions asked by participants which are beyond the scope of the program.
Working Environment:
- SPLC Office environment.
- Local community center, public libraries, parks etc.
Orientation/Training:
- Volunteer Services will conduct orientation on organization’s policies and procedures, including COVID-19 measures.
- IPAC Mandatory training for onsite positions.
- Organizational Training for new volunteers.
Other:
- Proof of full vaccination or Medical Exemption Certificate.
- Vulnerable Service Sector Check screening required.
