Planet Watch is a nonprofit, volunteer‑driven environmental education initiative dedicated to making climate literacy accessible for all ages. We create clear, hopeful learning tools, youth‑friendly programs, and a curated online library that helps communities understand climate issues and take meaningful action. Our work is grounded in inclusion, practical education, and collective care for the planet.

Role

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Planet Watch’s Airtable‑based online library. This role ensures that our growing collection of climate news and articles is organized, searchable, stable, and easy for volunteers and community members to use. You will lead the technical architecture of the library, streamline workflows, and support teams that rely on Airtable for content management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Airtable bases, interfaces, and automations for the online library
• Develop scalable data structures that support tagging, search, and resource categorization
• Create and maintain automation using Airtable Scripts, Interfaces, and integrations (e.g., Make, Zapier, Python)
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and long‑term maintainability across all library systems
• Collaborate with content, education, and volunteer teams to understand workflow needs
• Build simple, user‑friendly views and interfaces for non‑technical volunteers
• Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and implement improvements proactively
• Document system architecture, workflows, and best practices for future contributors
• Support a positive, inclusive, and mission‑aligned experience for all library users

Years of Experience

• 4–6 years of experience with Airtable development, database design, or no‑code/low‑code systems
• Strong experience with Airtable Scripts, automation, and integrations
• Experience with nonprofit, educational, or environmental initiatives is an asset
• Comfort translating user needs into clear, maintainable technical solutions
• Experience with AI would be an asset

Time Commitment

Minimum 4–6 hours per week.

Candidates must reside in Canada and speak English.
