About The Hanen Centre

Founded 50 years ago, The Hanen Centre is a Canadian charitable organization with a global reach. We help parents, caregivers, educators, and speech-language pathologists support young children’s language, social communication, and literacy development, including children with language delays/disorders and autistic children.

We do this by:

  • Developing evidence-based programs and resources for parents and other caregivers, which are grounded in current research
  • Training professionals to coach parents and educators so they have the skills to facilitate children’s social, language and literacy development
  • Providing trusted learning materials and support for professionals worldwide
  • Conducting leading-edge research in early language intervention

Position Summary

The Hanen Centre is seeking a Sales and Business Development Representative to help grow awareness and adoption of Hanen workshops and resources across Canada and internationally.

This is a consultative sales and business development role focused on building long-term professional partnerships. Success in this position comes from understanding customer needs, building trust, and connecting professionals and organizations with solutions that genuinely support their work with children and families.

Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with clinicians, healthcare and education leaders, institutional partners, and distributors to expand Hanen’s reach and strengthen long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clinicians, healthcare and education leaders, distributors, and institutional partners
  • Identify new business opportunities and support growth across existing and emerging markets
  • Represent Hanen workshops and resources in a knowledgeable, professional, and engaging manner
  • Meet sales and business development targets through relationship-building and strategic outreach
  • Develop and implement sales plans and track results using CRM and lead management systems
  • Gather and share customer feedback, market trends, and competitive insights to support marketing and product development
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support organizational goals and customer success

Primary Audiences

  • Speech-language pathologists, early interventionists, early childhood and related professionals
  • Healthcare and education leaders in hospitals, clinics, school boards, universities, and early childhood organizations
  • Distributors and resellers in Canada and international markets
  • Institutional partners and organizations serving young children and families

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or relationship management
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust-based professional relationships
  • Experience working with healthcare, education, government, or not-for-profit organizations considered an asset
  • Experience using CRM systems and lead management or email automation tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; education in Business, Health Sciences, Education, or a related field considered an asset
  • Experience in training, publishing, healthcare, education, or professional development sectors considered an asset

Compensation

Salary range: $60,000–$100,000 annually, including commission and/or performance incentives, based on experience and qualifications.
