Rural Community Outreach Team Member
Want to build meaningful experience in trauma-responsive community engagement while contributing to greater access to care?
TEAO Canada is recruiting volunteers to support an upcoming Rural Community Outreach Project across Wellesley, Wilmot, North Dumfries and surrounding communities in Waterloo Region.
This project is part of our growing approach to bringing trauma-responsive education, connection, resources and referral pathways into communities that may experience geographic and systemic barriers to accessing support.
As a project volunteer, you may support:
• Community outreach and relationship-building
• Connecting with local organizations and community partners
• Sharing TEAO programs, resources and referral information
• Supporting workshops, community circles and outreach activities
• Event coordination and community engagement
• Tracking outreach, participation and community connections
• Helping us learn what communities are asking for—not simply assuming what they need
What can you grow through the experience?
This is more than completing volunteer hours. Volunteers can build practical experience in community engagement, trauma-responsive care, outreach, communication, relationship-building, nonprofit programming and community mental health while learning how trauma-responsive principles can be embodied in real community settings.
Ideal for students, emerging professionals, community members and those interested in mental health, social services, healthcare, psychology, community development, nonprofit leadership or trauma-responsive practice.
